Explanation[edit | edit source]

A morose dog—presumably a reinterpretation of Jon’s dog, Odie, lies bloodstained on the floor, lamenting that they "killed Odie" but that "nobody remembered." Garfield then enters the scene, inexplicably covered in blue paint, declaring, "I am blue." The title Forgive and Forgetfield plays on the phrase "forgive and forget," possibly alluding to themes of guilt, erasure, and the absurdity of memory within comic strips.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

Original strip: 2010-06-06.
