Explanation[edit | edit source]
This strip takes two original Garfield strips, the earlier of the two being a Sunday strip and the later of the two being the following Monday's; the Sunday strip's title panel and general layout is combined with the Monday strip's core content, with the initial two beat panels of the latter tripled to six to fit the Sunday layout, and the final panel being reworded to imply Garfield is genuinely smiling throughout the Sunday setup. This strip's setup is further punctuated by having itself first ran on a Sunday.
