5965: High And Low

Explanation[edit | edit source]
This strip riffs at the effort of intentional lazy edits designed to lampoon lazy edits; it takes 5126: High Effort, itself a strip that mocks the "intentional lazy edits" idea by being a high-effort task, and does some copying and pasting to lower the quality of the result; the "lazy edits" line from the second panel is moved into the first panel, then what was the third panel is moved over the second panel--and even a small part of the first--leaving enough of the right side of the second panel to resemble the trimming jobs a number of "intentional lazy edits" strips deploy (in some cases the authors themselves do the trimming, in others cases the authors reuse files trimmed-down strips).
The strip's title is that of a 1963 Japanese film involving a shoe company whose board of shareholders is split about how to handle the quality of the company's output.
The author writes:[edit | edit source]
Upon seeing SRoMG #5126: High Effort, I immediately knew what I had to do. (And yes, the title is a nod to the 1963 film.)
Original strip: 2015-01-06.
Transcript[edit | edit source]

Jon: Unnecessarily high effort edits!
Garfield: oops
