5966: Lazy edits lack artistic skills

Explanation[edit | edit source]
This strip riffs at the effort of intentional lazy edits designed to lampoon lazy edits; it is essentially a recreation of the third panel of the original Garfield strip done in a deliberate Stylistic Suck art style (which would take more effort than a typical played-straight "intentional lazy edits" effort) with dialogue based on 4161: I Hate Fusion (which used the same original Garfield strip, but triple-cloned the first panel instead of the third). The first two panels of #4161's dialogue were taken verbatim, while the third panel's dialogue is original dialogue making fun of the strip's art style.
The author's notes also list 2555: Garfield Minus Feelings as an inspiration, even though that strip isn't part of the "intentional lazy edits" running gag; that strip did come two strips after the strip that arguably made that running gag run. It is unknown if listing #2555 instead of #2553 is a genuine error or if it's a deliberate miscredit designed to poke fun at low-effort research that often leads to author's note errors.
The author writes:[edit | edit source]
This is by far the laziest edit I'd ever come up with. A little homage to SRoMG #4161 and #2555.
Original strip: 2003-05-06.
