Explanation[edit | edit source]

This strip riffs at the effort of intentional lazy edits designed to lampoon lazy edits; this strip essentially re-creates the methodology behind creating an "intentional lazy edits"-type strip, in a similar style to 4415: More Worserer but retaining part of the pre-April 2025 GoComics interface, and framed it in the style of a video-game speedrun, appearing to take a little less than 57 seconds for the entire process of procurement, editing, and saving the file. The strip's title is reminiscent of YouTube videos of world-record video game speedruns, specifically how different percentage brackets (such as Any% and 100%, and indeed certain games have creatively-named percentage categories involving certain tasks [warning: NSFW]) have their own world record times.

Due to the exact methodologies of individual Square Root of Minus Garfield strips, "intentional lazy edits"-type strips or otherwise, varying between authors, it is unknown whether the depicted effort resulting in the still image in the author's notes, as shown in the animated image that is the strip proper, is indeed a world record in creating a fresh Square Root of Minus Garfield image file.
