This strip marks the milestone of Square Root of Minus Garfield reaching 6000 strips; as more of a minor milestone in comparison to something such as the 1000th or especially the 5000th, this strip is a more subdued affair (such as the 4000th) and takes the 2025-08-12 original Garfield strip and modifies the ancient philosophical advice to reference the milestone (a thousand miles becomes the number of numbered Square Root of Minus Garfield strips, thus not including the Specials, to this point; the single step becoming a singular SRoMG strip, presumably in reference to 1st).
As the original Garfield strip that formed the bulk of the basis of this strip did not include the letter G in it, a strip from a nearby date, in this case three days earlier, was used to source that particular letter from.
This strip's title is a reference to Square Root of Minus Garfield's update schedule, having somehow not having missed a single day since 2010-01-25 when Square Root of Minus Garfield officially went onto a daily schedule (schedule slips have never been more than a few hours for technical reasons, with 2019-01-22 arguably the closest SRoMG has come since officially going daily to have been in danger of missing a day).
