Explanation[edit | edit source]

This strip edits only the title panel of the original Garfield strip; the rest of the strip proper is the same as in the original Garfield strip. The title panel has been reworked a bit to increase the accuracy in comparison to a real-life Monopoly game board; it does so by shifting Odie Place to where Jon Street had been, recoloring the color group denotation on Odie Place from yellow to orange to match that of Garfield Avenue, and a Community Chest space is placed between Garfield Avenue and where Odie Street now lies. However, the edited title panel is still not completely accurate to an actual Monopoly board, apparent due to Garfield Avenue and Odie Place keeping their rent values from the original Garfield strip; on an actual American Monopoly board (the one familiar to Garfield production), the first color group after the Go space was purple at the time of the original Garfield strip (it had long since been brown on the British Monopoly board at that point in time, and American boards followed suit in 2008), while the orange color group is the one that precedes Free Parking almost at the direct opposite end of the board from the Go space (the orange color group, however, is home to the second Community Chest space along the board's path).
