{Strip 1}:
{A mouse is with a happy face behind Jon; he has not noticed his presence}
Mouse: I've had a really great day today!
Mouse {to Jon}: How about you?
{Jon looks back, noticing the presence of the mouse}
Jon {calling Garfield, who is offscreen}: Oh, Garfield
Mouse: Yeah, ask him how his day has been
{Strip 2}:
{It's night, Arlene waits for Garfield at the fence for their date}
Arlene: Sigh
{Odie suddenly appears, Arlene notices his arrival}
Arlene: I take it Garfield isn't coming
Odie {reading a sheet of paper}: "Meow"
{Strip 3}:
{It's sunset, Arlene waits for Garfield at the fence, but is surprised to see that instead of Garfield arriving for his date, a mouse arrives}
Arlene: Where's Garfield?
Mouse: He couldn't make it...
Mouse: So he sent me in his place to keep you company at dinner
Mouse {smiling}: And he wants me to bring back the leftovers
