Explanation[edit | edit source]
This strip pokes fun at the "intentional lazy edit" trend. In this case, a fresh copy of the original Garfield strip was used. The author erased the dialogue from the last two panels and overlaid them, along with extra space set aside, with an appearance by gamblecore guy, star of a series of short Flipnote animations by raxdflipnote, declaring his hatred for lazy edits, referencing "gamblecore 5," where he snaps in a similar fashion.
The author's note references a comment on "gamblecore 1", which reads, "90% percent [sic] of gamblers quit before they make it big"; while also managing to reflect the number of Square Root of Minus Garfield authors that have not done a "lazy edit" strip, including authors who are no longer actively published.
The author writes:[edit | edit source]
90% of SRoMG contributors quit before they become truly lazy.
Original strip: 2015-01-06.
