Explanation[edit | edit source]
This strip replaces Odie's random thought of a squirrel from the original Garfield strip with a reference to the Schoolhouse Rock! short "Little Twelvetoes", inserting that episode's number ten from its base-twelve system into where Garfield relaying Odie's squirrel thought was in the original Garfield strip. The author's notes invokes a lyric from the episode's song.
Despite invoking a reference to the correct material, it is presumed this strip is not the Schoolhouse Rock! reference referred to as being "stuck in the backlog" in 3372: Feeding the Cat (it is unknown if the strip that was being referred to ever left the backlog); that Square Root of Minus Garfield strip first ran in 2018, roughly seven years prior to the original Garfield strip this strip uses.
The author writes:[edit | edit source]
Hey, little Twelvetoes, I hope you're well...
Original strip: 2025-04-30.
