Explanation[edit | edit source]

This is a regular Garfield strip with a limerick relating to its subject matter placed underneath it, an homage to the (now defunct) blog Limerixkcd, which did the same thing to xkcd comics. The title refers to Edward Lear, a pioneer of the genre (and namesake for the person who did Limerixkcd).

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

I read Limerixkcd and recommend you do too.

Original strip: 2010-06-13.

Transcript[edit | edit source]

Jon: Garfield...
Jon: What kind of birthday cake would you like this year, Garfield?
Garfield: Glad you asked.
{Garfield retrieves a blueprint}
Jon: I've never seen a blueprint for a cake before.
Garfield: And this is the electrical schematic.
