Explanation[edit | edit source]
This strip essentially takes the dialogue of the credited original Garfield strip and drops it into an unattributed Le Chat strip; the title is essentially a combination of the two features' titles.
From a production standpoint, this strip was designed as a full follow-up to the author's Manga Garfield trilogy (intended sequence: #372, #749, #458); due to some of this author's strips running out of their original production order, this strip ran between the latter two legs of the Manga Garfield trilogy, which themselves ran in the opposite order of what the author had intended (the intended second installment of the Manga Garfield trilogy would be the next strip of the author's to run).

Having already shown the Manga side of Garfield, I thought it'd be interesting to have an European version of the housecat. In this case, I've used the straight-faced Le Chat by Philippe Gluck combined with dialogue from a Garfield strip. Like Garfield, Le Chat is usually portrayed in three panels, though is more a straight man than Garfield could ever be. I talked about this French cartoon character in a past blog entry.
