Explanation

This strip takes the 1980-01-05 original Garfield strip, originally about Jon and Garfield putting up posters of pretty girls, and redoes the posters to convey a very different message; Jon's poster is now a poster declaring Lyman a missing person, with Lyman sourced from the 1982-11-13 original Garfield strip, with Garfield's poster now being a help-wanted poster asking for help disposing of an old trunk--with the two posters together implying Lyman's remains to be in the trunk Garfield seeks to dispose of.
