Explanation[edit | edit source]

The original Garfield strip had Jon freaking out over grasshoppers in his underwear drawer; this strip changes it to an apocalyptic scenario. The author's notes imply that Garfield may have found himself in a "Groundhog Day" Loop situation, which is what the author is implying by intentionally setting later contribution 4277: Yesterday, All My Troubles Seemed So Close To Today... as a rerun of this strip on Groundhog Day itself--unlike in the later instance, there is no link in the second sentence of the author's notes.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

Now Jon's reaction matches his wild take. Note that Garfield may be in a The Day After Tomorrow or Groundhog Day situation.

Original strip: 2020-08-27.

Transcript[edit | edit source]
