Explanation[edit | edit source]
This strip reworks the original Garfield strip into an allusion of a scene from episode 14 of Twin Peaks where Deputy Hawk (portrayed by Jon) finds Harold Smith (portrayed by Garfield) hanged to death. The strip's title is an allusion to a Twin Peaks tagline, "Who Killed Laura Palmer?"; this strip's follow-up, 1168: Who Killed Garfield Palmer? Part 2, would actually allude to the key moment in the storyline where that particular action happened, casting Jon and Garfield into the key roles of that particular Twin Peaks plot thread.
