The comment on GoComics that spurred the creation of this strip, assuming it had survived until then, was purged in the April 2025 rework of the site; in addition to putting all but the most recent strips of their features behind paywall, the rework reset all comments sections afresh and thus deleted all of the older comments.

I didn't write this strip. I was inspired by a comment on the Garfield GoComics page to do this strip. The material was good enough to use for a strip. One of those that was too good to pass up.

Garfield: Friends, Romans, and countrymen, lend me your ears.
Garfield: I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him (or Jon either).
Garfield: After that, we can all head off to the trattoria.
