Explanation[edit | edit source]
This strip, originally about Jon mistaking an upside-down menu as being in French, is an attempt to translate the original Garfield strip into French; to preserve the perceived "language barrier", the translated dialogue changes what was French in the original Garfield strip into English. The only English across the entire presentation consists of "upside down" in the transcript and "original strip" to begin the original strip credit across both the old and current strip crediting systems. The author's notes is essentially the author admitting not grasping the French language well.
The author writes:[edit | edit source]
S'il vous plait excusez-moi, je ne parle tres bien pas Francais.
Original strip: 2010-11-27.
