I thought I'd mix things up on this Month of No Sundays strip a bit by engaging in a game: Which of these abridged strips is different from the others, and in how many ways? (Answers below. Select with mouse to see.)
The second strip is different in at 6 least ways by my count:
- It's the only strip that uses 2 panels, rather than 3.
- It's the only strip that uses a "throwaway" panel.
- It's the only strip that lacks dialogue.
- It's the only strip with the mouse.
- It's the only strip without "distributed by Universal Uclick" in the gutters.
- It's the only strip which is presented here unaltered (the first strip replaces "he" with "Jon", the third strip replaces Garfield and Odie from a later panel, and the fourth strip, and the fair clue of this difference, "Liz" is added poorly, all in the first panel.)

Liz: Where is Jon with those hot dogs, anyway?
Jon: {Runs by, covered in} SEAGULLS!
Liz: I'm not going to look.
Garfield: Good idea. {Odie is holding Jon's swimsuit}
Strip 2:
{The house is sweating under the heavy sun}
{The mouse, Odie, Liz, and Jon are all angrily and sweatily looking at Garfield sitting in front of the Air Conditioning}
Strip 3:
Jon's Blog: Today I cleaned my barbeque grill!
{Odie and Garfield fall asleep}
Jon: Come on, it's not that boring
{The computer falls asleep}
Strip 4:
Jon: I forgot why I was calling you Liz
Liz: {on phone} Well, call me back when you remember.
{Jon hangs up, remembers, picks up the phone, and...}
Jon: I FORGOT HER NUMBER!
Garfield: Old people are funny.
