278: Garfield Dream
Garfield Dream |

Explanation[edit | edit source]
It is possible that even cappy cannot explain this one, even down to what the rest of the word starting with "pre-" might have been. And so, this explanation will be of the context of the art assets used.
The image of Garfield is a vertical flip of the Garfield in the fourth non-title panel in the 1984 strip. Upon closer inspection, one can see where the glue, used to stick Garfield to the ceiling, used to be. The ladder is from the previous panel. The trap door is a recolored pet door from the 1992 strip, rotated left 90 degrees.
Another thing we may never know: How faithfully this reproduces what cappy saw.
The author writes:[edit | edit source]
I woke up today with this image in my head. I don't know what it means. In my dream the ladder was in a grocery store and there were dogs around. I don't know which is scarier, the fact that this makes no sense or that I woke with a Garfield strip in my head.
Art from 1992-12-22 and 1984-08-26.
