Explanation[edit | edit source]

In the original Garfield strips, Odie was just wandering to the computer to make sure nobody was around, then he clicks the mouse. Odie starts to type on the computer. Then Odie clicks the mouse again. The computer tells Odie that his order has been processed and thanks him. Jon goes to his computer, and reads a link that says "www.dingleball.com". And in this original strip, the man was here to deliver three tons of dead flies.

Here, Odie types on the computer, clicks on the mouse, and there comes a man who tells Jon that he's here to deliver his order of eleven Cleveland Browns custom jerseys.

This strip first ran on the day Super Bowl LI was played; the Cleveland Browns did not make the playoffs that season, and by extension did not participate in that particular game, a detail the author presumably would not have known at the time the strip was created and submitted due to the necessary production lead time given the Square Root of Minus Garfield queue (a later attempt at a timely Super Bowl strip ended up in the specials). The Indianapolis Colts would make better sense within the canonical Garfield mythos, but they also did not make the playoffs that season; the representative of the AFC (the conference within the NFL both Cleveland and Indianapolis are part of) in the game was the New England Patriots.
