Explanation[edit | edit source]

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

On the surface this strip is a minor modification of an existing strip. However I find it to be shockingly acceptable as a current Garfield strip. We have seen on many occasions that Garfield is capable of shocking stupidity and/or obliviousness, even walking into solid objects in some strips. On the level of being in-character this strip passes.

And on the level of humor this also meets the mark; increasingly over the years such 'obvious gags' have made appearances in the strip revolving around things like misspellings, grammar and suchlike.

And of course it's perfectly on par with SRoMG submissions and my intent to make SRoMG of the exact same quality as Garfield itself.

Original Square Root of Minus Garfield: 2016-10-27.

Original strip: 2003-03-03.
