Explanation[edit | edit source]
The author writes:[edit | edit source]
I was fooling around with Playscii, which is basically a program that allows you to draw with text characters, when I noticed there was an option to import images into it. I had to fool with it for a bit to get the right balance between it being so large it didn't look like ASCII art* and it being so small that it wasn't recognizable.
*[Actually ANSI art in this case -Ed]
Original strip: 1980-03-15.
