Explanation[edit | edit source]

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

When I saw the original SRoMG strip, I immediately thought that the explosion was far too small. And then I realized that Antifield would have had to have an impressive magnetic containment of some sort not to explode on contact with the air itself, never mind the sidewalk, or Garfield.

Original strips: 1987-11-08, 1991-04-14.

Transcript[edit | edit source]

{Garfield walks out of the house, reading a book entitled 'Bird Calls'}
{He puts down the book and blows a whistle, making a 'TWEET'}
{Jon is reading the newspaper, but is startled by a massive explosion as Antifield loses containment upon conceptually entering into the world}
SFX: KA-BLAM!
{Picture of a mushroom cloud from the Antifield-regular matter explosion}
