Explanation

This is the eighth installment of the Garfield Numerosity series, based on the Numerosity series from Sesame Street. This comic adapts the eighth film, which centers around the number 8. That film ended with the baker carrying 8 raspberry pudding deserts, but that scene isn't adapted. Here's each panel of the comic in order:

• 8 blocks: This panel uses an image of Garfield standing next to 2 piles of blocks. Each pile has 4 blocks, leaving 8 blocks in total.
• 8 clocks: This panel uses the third panel of a comic (2006-01-09) where Garfield prepares to use a hammer to destroy a sentient alarm clock after it tells a clock pun. The original panel only has 1 clock, and 7 more (each one a different color) are added here.
• 8 puppets: This panel uses the second panel of a comic (1978-09-18) where Jon speaks to Garfield using a dog puppet named Hondo, which Garfield rips to pieces after it insults his weight. This panel uses the backdrop of the panel with 8 copies of Hondo edited on next to Garfield.
• 8 puppies: This panel uses 8 images of Cody the puppy from U.S. Acres, a short-lived comic from the 80s that Jim Davis created and worked on alongside Garfield.
• 8 ping pong balls: This panel uses a panel from a comic (1996-09-15) where Garfield kills 3 spiders with 2 rolled-up newspapers (one in each paw) and his ears. Garfield's arms are lowered here, and the spiders are removed. In their place are 8 ping pong balls that rain on his head.

Based on a Numerosity segment from Sesame Street, it counts five different sets of features.

Hondo the Puppet makes a return, but he is now eight instead of one, and the eight puppies are actually eight Codies.
