Explanation[edit | edit source]

This strip essentially is a verbal re-creation of a real life account of a man arrested in 1991 at a Chinese restaurant in Australia, the news report of which memetically exploded when the raw footage used to create the initial news report was uploaded to the Internet in 2009. The man in question, Jack Peter Karlson (a.k.a. Cecil George Edwards), was arrested for using a potentially-stolen credit card to pay for his meal; it wasn't until 2020 when the arrested man was finally identified. This strip was created and fast-tracked through the strip queue to debut two days after Mr. Karlson's death.
