Gyatfield

Explanation[edit | edit source]

In the original strip, Garfield imagined himself growing to kaiju-size after Jon's observation. In this remix, Garfield instead imagines the extra weight going to his rear end (punctuated by the illustration used for the cover of Garfield Caution: Wide Load). The title references the slang term gyatt (also spelled gyat and gyattt), which refers to the buttocks. The author's note references Garfield’s well-known love for lasagna and his tendency to gain weight, humorously exaggerating the consequences.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

Garfield ought to cut down on the lasagna, it's pretty obvious where it's going.
