5850: Garfield plus SpongeBob: earworm edition
Garfield plus SpongeBob: earworm edition |
![]() Made by: twinec |
Explanation[edit | edit source]
In this strip, Garfield is enthusiastically dancing and singing a catchy song while Jon, distracted by the commotion, spills his coffee. The lyrics reference Musical Doodle, a song from SpongeBob SquarePants, which humorously describes an unstoppable earworm that plays on repeat. As Garfield continues singing, the strip reveals that the song is actually coming from a record player, which Garfield then smacks in an attempt to stop any skipping1. However, the song resumes without interruption, leading Garfield to realize, “You mean to tell me it’s supposed to be like that?”
The author notes that they struggled to fit the right number of “doo” repetitions into each panel, adding a meta-layer to the joke.
The author writes:[edit | edit source]
Inspired by SRoMG #5142. Took me ages to figure out how many doos I could fit in each box.
