Explanation[edit | edit source]

In this strip, Jon points at Garfield and speaks in Old English, saying something roughly equivalent to "You are a two-hundred shilling cat." He then continues with a phrase about a mouse, while Garfield shakes hands with the mouse and responds in similarly translated Old English. The punchline comes when Jon, frustrated, slaps his forehead.

The author notes that the translation was done using an online tool, LingoJam, and admits it may not be entirely accurate.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

The Old English isn't that accurate as i used the LingoJam translator but it tried

Original strip: 1995-10-24.
