{Garfield has embellished his name to GARFIELD HORATIO. III. ESQ. The Sunday strip title card takes 3 panels to fit the new name. Garfield looks at the reader}
Garfield: Hey! Yeah, you! The one sitting there reading this paper. Got anything to eat?
{The strip starts. Garfield walks next to a table with a food bowl on it}
Garfield: Oh-ho! What's that?
Garfield: Looks like a bowl of food for me
Garfield: And Jon's nowhere around...
Garfield: Looks like I'll have to serve myself
{Garfield tugs the tablecloth to get the food bowl down}
{The food bowl was actually gigantic and it was using the embellished name GARFIELD HORATIO. III. ESQ. The bowl is partially stuck in Garfield's mouth. Cat food has fallen on his face and on the floor. Jon looks at him disappointed}
Jon: Couldn't wait, could you?
