Explanation[edit | edit source]

The author's note explains the idea and reference pretty well, so what's happening here is an analysis of the title, because replacing refrigerated items with page elements has a couple of interesting effects, if someone were really laying out a page this way.

First, the webcomic lives behind a pop-up ad. Does this mean it can't be viewed? Can the Close button on the ad not simply by clicked or tapped to be made to go away?

Next, for whatever reason, the title -- a long one -- has been put to the right of the comic in this scenario. Not that this couldn't be done, but most of the time, you see the title above the comic.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

I came up with this idea to do a strip that had a battle between Jon, Garfield, and the leftovers in the fridge. Considering how many strips with Jon and Garfield cleaning out the fridge have been done over the years, I'm surprised nobody else has thought of this idea. I wanted to use random frames from every strip I could find making use of something living in the fridge. The dialogue went unedited except for a few additions in the last two frames. I think this makes sense, really. The title comes from an old Garfield and Friends cartoon titled "The Creature That Lived in the Refrigerator, Behind the Mayonnaise, Next to the Ketchup, and to the Left of the Coleslaw".
