We made this together and are hoping it can get on the site in time for SRoMG's 5th anniversary on 2013-11-18 [sic], but if not, oh well. We debated whether the final punchline should be "Have we dynamite?" or "They haven't stopped making frozen pudding pops, have they?" We think we made the right decision in the end.

Admin note: We received this well in advance of the 5th anniversary date, but alas the contributor stated the wrong date - the first SRoMG strip actually appeared on 2008-11-15. This, combined with the fact that I set myself a reminder in my calendar to queue this strip up for the 18th and the fact that the search function in my mail program failed to find the word "anniversary" in the submission email, meant I didn't find the strip again in time, and queued up strips for a few days past the anniversary. By the time I found this strip again, it was too late, both for the true date of the 15th and the false date of the 18th... So here we are several days after the real anniversary, but hopefully close enough to make the whole thing worthwhile.

Original Garfield strip: 1988-06-19.

Original SRoMG strips: *deep breath* 268, 556, 15, 1, 777, 46, 179, 205, 123, 83, 229, 253, 505, 305, 321, 744, 635, 716, 605, 582, 667, 867, 811, 804, 845, 918, 897, 1490, 1006, 938, 1098, 1011, 1111, 1225, 1277, 1313, 1352, 1461, 1514. In no particular order.

Transcript[edit | edit source]

Jon: Happy 5th birthday, SRoMG!
Garfield: If you brought me presents you may stay.
Jon: Hey, Garfield, I just ran across the SRoMG archive.
Garfield: Ho boy.

Jon: You've really changed in five years, Garfield.
Garfield: Have we dynamite?

Trivia[edit | edit source]

The blunders described in the admin note resulted in 1641: Shakesfield running on the occasion that this strip was meant to commemorate and 1644: Therapy running on the date this strip's author mistakenly set as the initial target.
