Explanation[edit | edit source]

This strip is a reference to Too Many Cooks, an Adult Swim short which parodies various 1980's television series. Its major gimmick is its innumerable amount of cast members, including the crude cat puppet, Smarf. Eventually, the short takes a much darker turn as a machete killer begins murdering everyone in sight. Really, it's extremely bizarre. In addition, the song itself lasts 11 minutes, including random shifts in genre, which, as the author has demonstrated with the strip with Jon cringing listening to ear-piercing "music," can prove to be nauseating.

The author writes[edit | edit source]

"Too Many Cooks" is a short that aired as part of Adult Swim's Infomercials series. It is a parody of various 80's TV series... Well, "parody" is putting it lightly. It starts out as such, but then verges into abyssal levels of insanity. Don't take my word for it: Here's the whole thing, in all its mind-screwing glory.

Original strip: 2014-01-10.

Transcript[edit | edit source]
