Explanation[edit | edit source]

The author mashed these two strips together to create a story, since they were consecutive and involved the same characters. He even changed Garfield's line from "Pooky needs me" to "Monday was really traumatic".

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

Hurled from the relative safety and comfort of bed to face the fear his best friend will not, Pooky found himself alone in the midst of a looming Monday. What terrors lay on the outside? No one can say. Only Pooky knows, and he's not telling. Because he doesn't have a mouth. Most of the time.

Original strips: 1982-07-12, 1982-07-13.

Transcript[edit | edit source]
