Explanation[edit | edit source]

The tune Garfield claimed to be playing in the original strip was "Beethoven's Fifth". Here, he says he played Limp Biskit's "Break Stuff", which is appropriate, considering he broke all those glasses.

Original strip: 1990-10-30.

Transcript[edit | edit source]

{Garfield has a series of wine glasses set up with water in them, and is holding a mallet such as one might use with a xylophone}
Garfield: Each glass contains a different amount of water, thusly causing it to emit a different pitch when tapped
{However, instead of tapping the glasses, he swings the mallet wildly, shattering them}
