Explanation[edit | edit source]

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

In honor of all those TV shows about "smart" people that boil down to the above.

As to the title: like Schrödinger's famous cat, this strip is either simultaneously the smartest and stupidest strip of Square Root of Minus Garfield Ever, or it's just a bunch of boring old nonsense that's only of interest because of an inherent contradiction or ambiguity in our definitions (in today's case, our definition of "smart" and "stupid"; in Schrödinger's case, "superposition" and "observation").

Original strip: 2018-08-13.

Transcript[edit | edit source]

Garfield: I am so smart! Jon: Let's go do something stupid! Garfield: Sorry, but no Garfield: I'm already committed to being smart today.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

This strip's author's notes were hit by a mojibake error in a later site recoding effort; the original author's notes unaffected by mojibake are currently lost to the public due to this.
