Explanation[edit | edit source]

This strip pokes fun at the then-ubiquitous advertising surrounding Raid: Shadow Legends, a free-to-play video game, by having Garfield watch a program sponsored by the game. The strip's title pokes fun at Raid: Shadow Legends's free-to-play mechanics, specifically how they relate to the Allegedly Free Game trope.

This is one of two strips with the same setup, the other being 4359: Sponsored Content. It is unknown when this strip was submitted, thus it is unknown which one was submitted first.
