Explanation[edit | edit source]

The title is a reference to the anime, manga, and light novel series Girls Und Panzer, in which Japanese girls participate in a sport called sensha-do (lit., "way of the tank"; sometimes dubbed as "Panzerkraft" or "Tankery"). This sport involves girls manning tanks and shooting opposing tanks with them, in both elimination matches (disable all tanks on the opposing side) and flag matches (disable the flag tank; disabling other tanks is helpful, but not required).

In the original, Garfield informs Jon that he's received reports that his casserole has been leaking troop movement information to the enemy; in this edit, Garfield latches onto Jon's description of the toy tank as "cute", and quotes part of the presentation introducing sensha-do to the students of Ooarai Academy. (In that context, it was supposed to be an effect of taking sensha-do on its practitioners.)

"Green tank shot the food" is a reference to the Gauntlet video games. In them, players' health dropped without them even being attacked, and had to restore it by eating. The food could be shot instead, rendering it useless for that purpose, much as the tank did here, and causing the message "(player type) shot the food" to be displayed.
