Explanation[edit | edit source]

The original Garfield strip framed itself around a heartburn dream sequence where a dinosaur asks Garfield if the ice age had ended, to which Garfield confirms and the dinosaur calls out its friends for a party. This remix replaces the dinosaur with Scrat from the Ice Age film series, with the sequence largely playing out the same.

The author's notes make note that Blue Sky Studios, the studio that put out the five mainline Ice Age films to date, was shut down; it was shut down by Disney, its owner since 2019, in April 2021.

It should be noted that there is no one real defined definition of just what constitutes an ice age; some definitions may imply that the Earth is actually still in an ice age, albeit at the tail end of it, and won't come out of it until the last of the extant glaciers have vanished.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

It really sucks that Blue Sky Studios went defunct though.

Original strip: 2019-08-15.
