Explanation[edit | edit source]

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

By way of explanation, this is a reference to the Make A Good Mega Man Level contest. In it, despite a focus on the Classic series, Zero is a character... except instead of being, y'know, Mega Man X Zero, it's instead some MS Paint... abomination. The battle with Zero is also largely a joke, and also Zero has a totally different character — and arguably better. If none of that made sense, here's a wiki link.

Upon looking at the best Zero fan interpretation to ever be devised, he's actually the result of taking a silhouette of Zero, and filling it in with MS Paint. I decided to apply this glorious technique to a Garfield strip. As you can see, it is now art.

The title is a change of the term "Connection to the X Series" — a lot of poorly made Mega Man fangames will usually contain at least one of these.

Original strip: 2003-05-23.

Transcript[edit | edit source]

{Jon and Garfield are beautiful works of art}
Jon: That hamburger had better be right there when I get back!
{Garfield looks at the really good burger, beat}
{Jon returns with a bottle of Nondescript Red Condiment SubstanceTM, to see Garfield on the plate, having (supposedly?) eaten the burger}
Jon: GARFIELD!
Garfield: Problem?

Trivia[edit | edit source]
