Explanation[edit | edit source]

As explained in the author's notes, the monster's line from the original inspired the creation of this work. Upon seeing this line, the author's mind immediately brought up legendary bandleader Lawrence Welk, and the pieces fell into place from there. The bubble machine is intended to invoke the bubbles signature to the opening of The Lawrence Welk Show, and the baton is naturally intended to allow the monster to strike up a band much like a bandleader such as Mr. Welk would.

The apology to the musical family in the author's notes was added just in case any of The Lawrence Welk Show's vast supporting cast or their families were to see the piece and take offense to it.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

Once I saw the monster's line, I knew what had to be done...

Apologies to any member of the musical family, whether or not they actually knew Mr. Welk personally, who ends up seeing this...

Original Comic: 2022-10-24.
