Explanation[edit | edit source]

In the original, Garfield's idea was to make a shadow puppet and bark. Here, the moon gains a filament, showing it to be the top part of an incandescent Idea Bulb, in response to Arlene's question about ideas.

There are a few different songs and albums the title could be a reference to, all called "Underneath a/an (something) Moon". It's possible the author has heard of none of these and knows only the reference made by Ferr of the Freelance Astronauts during the Let's Play of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest, which Maxwell Adams played after having played its direct sequel, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask: upon learning that the moon in Ocarina of Time doesn't have a face, Maxwell called it a benign moon, to which Ferr said, "Underneath a Benign Moon."

The author writes:[edit | edit source]
