Explanation[edit | edit source]

As the author's notes state, this strip is a response to an idea put forth by the author of 4136: Who's At The Door? to start another running gag, this time with a character from Eddsworld at the door apparently asking for a cup of sugar.

Also in the author's notes, the author also included the most dreaded of all utensils as a supplemental strip image: a template! The very inclusion of a template suggests the setup of the original strip could very well become the next out-of-control running gag to be unleashed onto the Square Root of Minus Garfield fandom.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

I was inspired by SRoMG #4136's author's proposal to make this strip a running gag. Granted, it's been a little over two years since that was published*, but better late than never!

For people who want to do one of these as well, a template:

Transcript[edit | edit source]

{Garfield walks over to the door and opens it, revealing that Tom from Eddsworld is standing on the front stoop. He's holding a flask in his right hand}
{Cut to Garfield talking to a confused-looking Jon... Yeah, I think they have the wrong house}
Garfield: Could you, perchance, spare a cup of your finest sugar?
