Explanation[edit | edit source]

The dialogue of the strip has been shortened so it reads like a haiku poem, with each panel acting as a line (5 syllables, then 7, then 5).

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

A sequel to #2263.

This strip lends itself quite well to haikuification. Sadly the next few strips aren't so much.

Original strip: 1978-06-20.

Transcript[edit | edit source]

{Jon hands Garfield a rubber mouse}
Jon: I got you a rubber mouse!
{Garfield eats the rubber mouse}
Garfield: Could've used some salt...
