Explanation[edit | edit source]

In the original, Garfield thought the last three words, but as a question. Here, Jon thinks them, as a statement. In both cases, it's likely that each thinker is uncertain whether a human woman would respect him; it's certainly the case with Garfield as the thinker.

Interesting how a shift of one word balloon can make a big difference in Garfield but goes totally unnoticed every day in Mark Trail.
