Explanation[edit | edit source]

In the original, the blue mouse receiving the baton in the second panel inexplicably became gray in the third, muddling the joke (and looking extremely unprofessional). This edit simply corrects this mistake.

The coloring error in question notably long affected the version on the garfield.com archive--an observation by one user on the Garfield wiki on Fandom implies it was corrected very late in the archive's existence, so late in its existence in that most archives of that archive still have the error version, with the rare corrected version being available on the aforementioned Garfield wiki (said rare corrected version also changes the coloring of the wall on the first and third panels to match the second)--and still affects the version on the secure-domain mirror on what was once the now-busted images.ucomics.com domain as well as on the main GoComics archive (as GoComics has not attempted their own medium-sized remastering job on this strip and still reuses the previously-listed small-size version).

The title is a reference to entertainment company Blue Man Group.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

Similar to the Garfield at Night one, I simply recoloured the last mouse, making the joke easier to understand.

Check the original strip: 1997-11-25.

This is clearly another case of the colourist not understanding their job.
