Explanation[edit | edit source]

This strip takes the "Linguistics with Liz" setup and infuses the most infamous line from the opening of the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive version of Zero Wing into the setup. The setup includes a presumably intentionally-bad copy-paste of the villain organization's ambassador's head onto Liz's body in the first two panels to set up the ambassador delivering the infamous line to Jon in-person (the background around the ambassador's head being left in place and the head as a whole not being edited to blend in with Liz's body--both the ambasssador's and Liz's collars are visible--is likely in reference to the infamously bad translation the Genesis/Mega Drive version of Zero Wing was given).

This strip was published before more detailed research into the game's plot was done for more recent re-releases of various versions of the game, including versions that didn't have the infamous introduction; at the time this strip was made, it was widely thought CATS was a singular villain rather than a villainous organization and that the ambassador was said singular villain rather than his actual profession, as such portraying the ambassador as being named CATS as opposed to being unnamed. As such, this strip portrays what turned out to be several misconceptions about Zero Wing's plot
