Explanation[edit | edit source]

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

I finally gave in and made one of these strips more than slightly weirder. To be specific, I've added two extra points of weirdness. Note as well the clever adding of foreshadowing ("your clue to quality literature", to quote the literary giant Berke Breathed) in the first two panels.

Original strip: 2001-03-08.

Transcript[edit | edit source]

{blender noises. No, this is not a "glued a blender to my face" strip, BTW}
SFX: RRRRRRRRRR
Jon {reading a newspaper}: Garfield, why are you using the blender this time? Not another lasagna smoothie, I hope...
Jon: On second thought, nevermind. I probably don't want to know.
Garfield {holding a cup with ears sticking out of it}: Could I interest you in some Easter-Bunny-Frappe?

Trivia[edit | edit source]

The author initially misplaced the opening quotation mark in the transcript two words further to the right than intended (before "blender" instead of the intended "glued"); this has since been fixed.
