Explanation[edit | edit source]

In the original strip, Jon's opening remark is the preface for his telling of a series of undesirable occurrences, "interrupted" by Garfield rudely wanting to relate his own day before Jon is finished. 119: Frozen Garfield is the same telling, which ends when Jon realizes that Garfield has not moved and is continuing not to move.

This strip has Jon apparently deciding that since Garfield won't believe his day, he simply won't elaborate. Garfield, instead of asking him to, ends with his dialogue from the original strip, which comes off as more sarcastic since Jon said nothing after the first panel... for four panels before Garfield finally said something.

The author writes:[edit | edit source]

Expanding upon #119, I have decided to explore other ways to improve on the original strip. By keeping Jon mostly silent (with the exception of the first panel), Garfield's remark comes off as even more sarcastic.

Original strip: 1993-02-07.
